Remembrance Day 2022

Remembrance Day 2022

This year’s Remembrance Service was a wonderful event hosted by our Year 8 boys. The service began with an opening speech from our Head Boy, Zac S, followed by a performance from our Upper School Beacon Voices.

Throughout the service, our Year 8 boys read aloud moving poems that they had written themselves and sang beautiful hymns. We were also delighted to have two of our Gap Year Students, who are both former Beacon boys, read their poems aloud.

Nick Baker, our Headmaster, gave an emotional talk before we heard from Ian Lynch who played ‘The Last Post’ and ‘The Reveille‘ on the trumpet.

Our Head Chorister, Romir P, gave an outstanding performance singing ‘Pie Jesu’ during a solo performance, accompanied by Elaine Brown.

The 2 minute silence took place at 11:00, at which point we paid our respects to the men and women who have lost their lives fighting in wars for this country.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the excellent event, and to all the Year 8 boys for making it such a special event.

Lest we forget.
