Work for Us

The Beacon is an exciting and rewarding place to work. We look for inspiring, caring, positive and highly committed teachers and support staff. All our staff are here to help the boys achieve their very best, to show kindness and develop a love of lifelong learning.

Our strong leadership teams look out for, guide and support our wonderful team of staff on a daily basis. At The Beacon, doors are always open and the professional development and pastoral care for all who work here is very important to us.

Our school is full of vibrant and modern workspaces located in 18 acres of grounds within the idyllic Chiltern countryside. There are excellent transport links and we are within easy walking distance of Amersham Station – 35 minutes by Chiltern or Metropolitan Line from London.

We offer competitive salaries and pension scheme arrangements for all staff. There is a school fee discount scheme, on-site parking and a delicious array of free daily breakfast, lunch and tea. Occasionally, we have on-site accommodation available which is very handy for new joiners relocating or staff in need of a short-term flat.

With an enthusiastic social committee in place, there are a variety of subsidised fun events throughout the year and we are proud to say that ‘collaborative spirit’ is something new joiners frequently feedback as being evident from day one.

A career with us means working in a positive, happy and inspiring environment where the boys are at the heart of all we do. If you join our team, we are confident that you will continue to learn and grow during your time here and above all will enjoy working with us.

The Beacon partners with  Astra School Centred Initial Teacher Training and Bath Spa University to provide PGCE and QTS courses for new entrants to the teaching profession.

In the last ten years, over 550 graduates have gone on to gain QTS through Astra, which partners with approximately sixty local primary, secondary and special schools. Astra training is almost always in person and is offered in a wide range of subjects. Training takes place in schools and venues across Buckinghamshire.

For further information and details of training commencing next summer, please contact Astra via hello@astra-alliance.com or visit the Astra website.
