Beaconian Inspires Reception Boys

18 May 2022

This week, our Reception boys have really enjoyed building towers with the wonderful ‘Magnetic Connective Building Blocks’ that were kindly donated to our Design and Technology department by former Beacon boy, Lochlan Preston, who left The Beacon in Year 8 last year. These are a great way to introduce the boys to the world of Design & Technology at a young age, helping to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and reasoning. As well as nurturing imagination, curiosity and creative-thinking.

As you can see from the gallery below, our boys had great fun seeing how high they could build their towers! Thank you again to our wonderful Alumni community for all of their generous donations.

Lochlan, who developed a real passion for DT throughout his journey at The Beacon, said “Enjoy your time building and exploring. Design and Technology was a very special place for me”.
