Remembrance Day 2021

Remembrance Day 2021

This years’ Remembrance Service was a brilliant event hosted by our Year 8 Boys.

The service began with a few words from our Head Boy, George C. We then went on to hear a wonderful hymn sung by our Year 8 Beacon Voices, ‘Abide with me‘.

Throughout the service, our Year 8 boys read aloud poems they have written in their English lessons, as well as a dedication to the relatives of boys, whereby they stated their relatives rank and their relation.

Our Headmaster said some emotional words before we heard from Ian Lynch who played ‘The Last Post’ and ‘The Reveille‘ on the trumpet.

Maxi J gave an outstanding performance singing ‘In Flanders Fields’ during a solo performance.

The 2 minute silence took place at 11:00, at which point we paid our respects to the men and women who have lost their lives fighting in wars for this country.

A big thank you to everyone who was involved in organising the event, and to all the boys for making it such a special event.
