The MasterCook Cookbook is now available to purchase!
We have collated a selection of the delicious recipes our boys made into the cookbook. We have loved putting this book together and we hope you enjoy cooking these great recipes.
All profits from the book will be donated to COFARM Charity whose aim is by 2030 everyone in the United Kingdom will have access to local, sustainably produced food and opportunities to enjoy growing and sharing it with others.
We were astounded by the time, effort and dedication shown by our Beacon Boys in this year’s MasterCook competition. They really did cook up a storm! The boys produced a great variety of unique and delicious recipes with excellent presentation – it was certainly a tough decision for our guest judge, Laurie Gear from the Artichoke Restaurant in Amersham.
Well done to all the boys who took part, and to the parents and staff for their help with the competition. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Laurie Gear, our guest judge, and to the owners of A Little Street Kitchen, Leela Farr and Kara Lawson, for their generous prize to work in the café and gain invaluable insights into how a café is run. Finally, we would like to thank our wonderful Mrs Rowland for organising and making the competition happen.

Year 4-5 Final
1st place: Henry L

Year 6-8 Final
1st place: Alexander T
2nd place: Arya K
3rd place: Arthur W
Boys who took first place were awarded a five-course lunch menu for two at The Artichoke Restaurant in Amersham, as well as an exciting tour of the kitchen! Boys who were awarded second place will enjoy a day at A Little Street Kitchen, working in each section and gaining invaluable insights into how a café is run. Third place boys received a wonderful cookbook by Diana Henry. Congratulations!
