Taste Buddies Sessions

29 April 2021

Our Year 7 boys were lucky enough to try some tasty treats this morning, made by our wonderful Head Chefs. The boys enjoyed a delicious asparagus and wholemeal brioche loaf with a caramelised onion ketchup. For a sweet treat, they indulged in wholemeal double chocolate brioche and finished with a mouth-watering rhubarb and chocolate wholemeal tart – delicious!

The boys were surprised to find out that these treats, and organic fruits and vegetables, have in fact 25% less sugar! They also discovered that wholemeal flour contains much more fibre than plain flour. Some of their favourite foods can be made even more delicious, whilst still being healthy!

Thank you to our wonderful catering team for producing such a fantastic display of tasty treats for our Beacon boys.

On Wednesday this week, our Beacon boys also enjoyed a tasty vegetarian option of homemade pea, asparagus and lemon tortellini. We hope to get your mouths watering with the gallery below, which showcases some of these delicious culinary delights!
