Life Skills 101

30 June 2020

Today our Year 8 Leavers have been practising some essential life skills as part of their Leavers’ Programme. As they leave The Beacon as kind, confident and committed individuals, we also wish for all our boys to be independent and ready for new challenges ahead.

Committed to the tasks, the boys got stuck into the programme, starting with a morning of ironing, shoe polishing and letter writing. After cooking themselves very tasty-looking pasta dishes as part of Mrs Rowland’s challenge, the boys then learned how to properly make their bed and maintain their bicycles. Skills like these are simple yet empowering, and will stand our boys in good stead for the future.
