Our Peer Mentors Spending Valuable Time in Lower School

27 January 2020

The Beacon is delighted that our recently introduced Peer Mentoring scheme, where our Upper School boys provide advice and guidance to those younger than them, both at break and lunch times and within form times, is now well underway. Sometimes, taking advice from an older pupil may have a stronger impact on our younger Beacon boys than that given by simply their teachers and adult helpers. A big thank you to our new Upper School Peer Mentor volunteers, and their teaching staff advisor Sam Privett who helped train the boys for their new roles – they are a great example of The Beacon core values in action.

Talk & Tours

Throughout August, our Headmaster, Will Phelps, and our Registrar, Jane Baines, are inviting future Beacon families to safely meet with him on our School site for a socially-distanced tour of our incredible school and an informal talk about your son and his education. “The largest single sex Prep School in the UK, The Beacon still has an impressively inclusive, family feel to it, with a focus on pastoral care and turning out well-rounded boys.”
