Year 5 Residential Trip to Windmill Hill

15 June 2023

On Monday morning, our Year 5 boys arrived at school ready and raring to depart for their residential trip to PGL at Windmill Hill.

On arrival at the adventure centre in East Sussex, they dropped off their luggage at the accommodation lodges, had a briefing followed by lunch and were eager to get stuck into the afternoon of activities.

The boys had a packed schedule of fun and challenging activities over the three days, including:

  • Abseiling
  • Raft Building
  • Orienteering
  • Problem-Solving Games
  • Zipwire
  • Archery
  • Jacobs Ladder
  • All Aboard (Climbing-based activity)

The trip was a great success. It is safe to say that all the boys were well and truly exhausted from all the fun when they arrived back to The Beacon on Wednesday afternoon.

A big thank you to all the staff members who gave up their time to attend and support with the trip. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves, showing plenty of enthusiasm and resilience while away. They were a real credit to The Beacon in the way that they behaved and conducted themselves throughout the trip.

There were lots of little and big achievements made along the way. Well done, boys!
