Bursaries

The Beacon’s vibrant school community is made up of talented and intellectually curious boys from a wide range of backgrounds.

Requests for financial support usually fall into one of the below two categories.

The Headmaster’s Bursary Fund (for new applicants)

We are committed to ensuring that a Beacon education is accessible to bright boys regardless of their families’ financial circumstances. We do this by offering means-tested support with the cost of school fees, known as a bursary. Each bursary is considered on a case-by-case basis and will take into account financial, compassionate and other relevant circumstances of applicants. Bursaries are normally offered to boys in Years 3 – 6 and can range in value up to 100% of fees. The number of bursaries available each year is at the discretion of the school and will vary. The Beacon Bursary Fund (for existing pupils)

The Beacon Bursary Fund is a separate charity run independently of the school. It can offer financial assistance to existing pupils whose families find themselves in temporary financial difficulty and who would otherwise have to remove their son from The Beacon at a time that would be detrimental to their educational progress. Redundancy, illness, or the death of a breadwinner are all situations which could lead to an inability to pay school fees in full, and at such times the fund can offer short-term assistance.
