Adventures In The Lakes
After a rather long journey, our Year 7 boys arrived to an overcast and rather cool Lake District on Monday afternoon. Once checked in to the YHA on the beautiful shores of Lake Windermere, they took a stroll into Ambleside to Zeffirelli’s Pizza for a well-earned and much-enjoyed feast. The boys then squeezed in a bit of football in the park, before heading straight for bed.
Activities then commenced properly the following day, where the boys began kayaking, playing games on the water and exploring an underground cave at Cathedral Quarry in Little Langdale. The evening ended off with a walk to Stock Ghyll Force to admire the beautiful waterfall.
Wednesday and Thursday was spent hiking to the top of Wansfell Pike, raft-building, paddleboarding… and indulging in some delicious ice cream at Waterhead!
Before everyone knew it, Friday dawned. Despite the rather rainy bus ride home, spirits were high, as many had conquered fears, demonstrated resilience and determination – altogether our Year 7 boys created some fantastic memories in the Lakes.
