Our Year 8 pupils worked incredibly hard in preparation for what would be their final MasterCook Competition at The Beacon. Many had competed in previous years and were already familiar with the high standards and expectations of the event. Their experience, combined with a lot of practice and competitiveness, led to a fantastic competition that showcased a range of highly skilled dishes for our adjudicator, Henry Cripps FBII, owner of award winning gastro pub; The Three Oaks in Gerrards Cross.
Following a challenging series of cook-offs, our finalists were selected and given the opportunity to demonstrate their culinary talents for the hospitality professional. After much deliberation, we are delighted to announce our Year 8 MasterCook winners:
1st Place – Guy B
A perfectly executed Cinnamon Parfait with Apple Tarte Tatin and Brown Butter Oat Crumb.
2nd Place – Rocco G
A beautifully baked Lemon Meringue Tart.
Joint 3rd Place – Nisaja D
Kottu, prepared with great skill and flavour.
Joint 3rd Place – Alistair H
A delicious Afternoon Tea selection.
A special thank you goes to Henry Cripps, who once again judged the competition with expertise and enthusiasm, providing valuable feedback to help our competitors continue developing their culinary skills.
We now look forward to seeing our Year 8 competitors create and serve a divine menu for families and staff at our upcoming ‘Come Dine with Us’ event on 6th July!
