On Wednesday 13th May, Year 1 had the wonderful opportunity to go to Whipsnade Zoo in Dunstable.
The children had been full of excitement all week, and you could feel the energy in the coach on the way. They were incredibly lucky to see a range of fascinating animals, including a family of giraffes feeding on hay, meerkats playing and penguins waddling about in the morning.
After lunch, Year 1 enjoyed a ride on the zoo train, seeing some more of the ‘Asian’ animals. They especially loved seeing two elephants holding trunks and some camels having a peaceful doze.
Despite the fickle weather, the children had a lovely experience and were eager to share stories from their fantastic day out when they got back!
