Celebrating a new school year
Over 650 members of our Beacon community came together on Saturday to celebrate the start of a new school year at BeaconFest. Blessed with fair weather and a fantastic atmosphere, it was a wonderful opportunity for children to catch up with friends, parents to reconnect and everyone to welcome new faces to our community.
Fun, Games and Creativity
Our mighty inflatables from Bounce Krazee were once again a huge hit, with children enjoying the giant slide, obstacle course and the new, and very popular, Wipe Out ring. Face painting provided by Blue Orange Images was another firm favourite, while the funfair games and Nerf Arena provided plenty of friendly competition. Children eagerly collected stamps on their game cards before heading to the prize table to choose their rewards.
There was also a fabulous opportunity to get creative, with Graff Arty’s hour-long guided graffiti workshops proving to be a huge hit with our budding artists.
Magic and Festival Treats
Sam Tastic entertained children and parents alike with multiple magic shows, bringing plenty of laughter, surprises and wonder to the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the food stalls were just as busy as last year, with families enjoying a delicious selection of refreshments. Sip & Latte served up coffee and sweet treats, Well Nice Food offered fish, halloumi or frickles and chips, while Naan and Sizzle delighted hungry visitors with their loaded naans. The ice cream van was also busy with constant queues of visitors wanting a delicious festival treat.

We’d like to thank our Beacon Parents’ Society and all the volunteers who helped to organise and run BeaconFest, as well as everyone in our community who came along and helped make the afternoon such a success. It was a superb way to kick off the new school year together… we’re already looking forward to the next BPS event!
