France Ski Trip 2026

The Beacon Conquers the Slopes: Alp d’Huez 2026

This year, our annual Beacon Ski Trip headed to the beautiful Alpe d’Huez in France!

A remarkable resort, boasting the longest black run in Europe, welcomed our pupils to the Alps, many for the first time. Excitement levels were high as they set off at a very reasonable hour on the Saturday morning. After a long day of travel, the group tackled the resort’s famous 21 hairpin bends, climbing nearly 2,000 feet of altitude to drop them at the resort with a light flurry of snow. The young skiers were warmly greeted by hotel staff, who quickly helped them get fitted with their equipment and get ready for the week ahead on the slopes.

The trip began with cold, windy conditions and a fresh five inches of snow on Sunday night, but the weather soon improved with clear skies and sunshine. With well groomed fresh snow, it made the skiing sublime and gave the trip attendees ample opportunity to work on and improve their technique. By the end of the week, the progress was clear to see with tight parallels across the board.

Our pupils returned the following Saturday very tired, laden with souvenirs, newly developed skills and, most importantly, full of happy memories.
