Year 4 House Matches
On Tuesday, the Year 4 boys took to the field for their eagerly anticipated house rugby matches. The atmosphere was electric, with a fantastic turnout from parents whose warm support contributed to the occasion. Their encouragement gave the boys a real boost and helped create a memorable afternoon of sport.
Throughout the afternoon, all teams displayed outstanding determination and sportsmanship. The boys gave their all in every match, putting into practice the rugby skills they have been working hard to develop over the first half of term. Tackling, passing, teamwork, and positional awareness were all on show in abundance, and it was clear just how far they have come. Every match was played in a fantastic spirit, with all boys contributing fully for their houses and showing pride in their performances. There were close contests, brilliant tries, and moments of great individual and team play.
After an exciting series of matches, the final standings were as follows:
1st – Trinity
2nd – Cromer
3rd – Eddystone
4th – Portland
Well done to all the boys for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of rugby!

U10A Claires Court Rugby Festival
The U10A rugby team continue to go from strength to strength, delivering another set of impressive performances and results at the Claires Court Junior School Rugby Festival last Friday.
The boys are beginning to play some excellent rugby, moving the ball through the hands with increasing confidence and finding space effectively. It was particularly encouraging to see several tries scored out wide after a series of well-executed passes.
The team won all four of their matches and were crowned overall winners of the festival. They played especially well in tough matches against Claires Court and Chesham Prep, showing great character and resilience to come from behind in both games.
Well done to all the team:
Edward B, Barney K , Hugo K, Quinn R, Teddy S, Macsen T, Robert P, Harley G, Peter C

U10B Claires Court Rugby Festival
Last Friday, the U10B1 Team travelled to Claires Court to take part in a rugby festival. We played a total of 4 games and were undefeated in all four. We started the festival by having two wins against St John’s Beaumont and Claires Court and our final two group games were against The Beacon B2 Team and Chesham Prep. These proved to be a lot closer with two wins, 4-1 and 2-0, respectively. During the afternoon of rugby, we scored a total of 23 tries and these were spread across seven of our players too, which was pleasing to see.
The boys played some fantastic rugby throughout the festival and did very well representing The Beacon.
Well done boys.

U11 Colts A v Claires Court
On Wednesday, an expanded A squad went to Claires Court for our final game before the half term break. The boys started the game very well and have clearly learnt lessons from their previous matches and put this into practice.
Our defensive shape was much improved, and this was paired up with an ability to move the ball away from the contact area quicker – made possible by a great performance by Sammy M, who has really taken his chance and stepped up.
The result of this was some excellent rugby and during the first half we managed to run in 6 tries, with Blake B getting a hat-trick and Evan A, Oliver C and Thomas S each getting 1 try.
The second half was a tougher task, as Claires Court improved in a lot of areas, and maybe some of our boys had a cheeky eye on their upcoming trip to Portugal… but we stuck to our task and there were further tries for Thomas S, Evan A (our captain for the day), Oliver C and Kit R.
A special well done to Oscar P and Isaac K for making their debuts for the A team and to Rocky D, who played his best game of the season so far.
Thankfully, everyone got through the game unscathed as having 6 boys who were due to fly out to Portugal for the football tour on the following day, made for one very nervous coach…
Well done to all the boys across the A Team and B1 Team for their hard work this half term. Enjoy the break and come back raring to go for the second half, with November bringing some tasty fixtures ahead.
