Alex As The Beacon Headmaster
We were delighted to appoint a new Headmaster for the Day, after a lucky winner received this exciting opportunity through our Beacon Parents’ Society auction!
Alex T (Year 5) took to the role with pride and started the day off by assigning our Beacon Boys a task to complete by the end of the week. This was to learn how to sign your name – something he himself is fluent with. The day continued with a number of tasks, tours and duties to fulfill.
The busy schedule included:
- Working with the Catering team to develop a tasty lunch menu for the day, before making toasted cheese sandwiches with Chef Dino
- Morning tea with the Estates team
- A one-to-one workshop with IT
- A tour of the facilities and trip to the rooftop of our Osbourne Building to enjoy an aerial view of the Quad
- Lunch queue fast pass with five friends and a reserved VIP table
- An afternoon session with our Marketing department working on a News Story, helping film content for our socials and learning how to use a digital camera
- Meeting and dismissing our Pre-Prep boys from school
Alex thoroughly enjoyed his time in charge, before returning to the normal life of a Beacon Boy. He said, “My favourite part of the experience was meeting and dismissing the younger boys in Years 1 and 2, as they’re really cute.” Alex also went on to say that he’d recommend the experience to other boys and found the whole day “wonderful”.
Alex’s peers were thrilled to be given a non-uniform day to celebrate his headship for the day.
