Congratulations to all our Year 6 boys who have worked tirelessly this term to perfect their spectacular show of Peter Pan. The performances kicked off on Wednesday evening with cast 6BG and cast 6RY followed with their first performance last night. The theatre was bustling with our Beacon Community on both nights and the acting and singing was fantastic. The set design, lighting and special effects were superb, and the boys looked marvellous in their costumes – thanks to all the parents who supported in ‘prepping them backstage’!
Huge praise also goes to our Performing Arts team who have been working around the clock to bring the four shows to fruition and at such an outstanding standard. And thank you to everyone in our Beacon Community who pulled together and supported, the teamwork was wonderful.
The show is about Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, who visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, they begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travellers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, the fierce Brave Girls, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.
“Beacon Productions are always remarkable, and this was no exception. Brilliant performances across the two ‘companies’, expertly choreographed and directed by Miss Livermore and her team of staff, parents and boys. What. A. Show!”
Nick Baker – Headmaster
Best of luck to both casts on the final two shows taking place on Friday and Saturday evening!
