Show Time!

28 June 2023

The Beacon community were blown away by our spectacular performances of ‘School of Rock’; three evening shows put on by our Year 8 boys. There was an immense amount of preparation involved to ensure the show was performed to an excellent standard.

Our Performing Arts Team never fail to impress us.The show was full of humor, singing, fantastic live musical instruments, and even fireworks! The pyrotechnic display and musical talent showcased was thrilling. Everyone involved should be extremely proud of themselves. There are some incredible actors in the making at The Beacon!

“The Year 8 boys excelled themselves in the sensational ‘School of Rock’ over the weekend. We couldn’t be prouder of their infallible energy, loyal perseverance and excellent teamwork! They rose to the occasion and the show was a hit! Such an incredible way to finish their time at the Beacon – Rock on dudes!” – Zenelle Oosthuizen

A special mention to our Beacon parents who were a huge support behind the scenes, not just during the shows but at the rehearsals too. It was really appreciated.

About School of Rock:

After being kicked out of his rock band, Dewey Finn faces a large amount of debt. He shares a flat with his friend, Ned Schneebly, an old band member who is now a substitute teacher. Dewey accepts a job as a substitute teacher at an uptight private elementary school where his attitude and behaviours have a powerful result on the students. He learns they are talented young musicians, and he decides to create a rock band with his class to win the $20,000 prize money in a local band competition. But things do not go to plan when the school finds out that he is not a real teacher…
