The Beacon ski trip boys in Years 6 to 8 have returned from a fantastic week away in Les Menuires, France. Despite the long journey, they finally arrived at the slopes ready for their ski fitting before they got some rest. As the sun rose, there was plenty of excitement for a full day ahead on the freshly powdered slopes. Luckily, there had a been a heavy down pouring of snow the night before!
They had a brilliant first day with the sun shining and lots of smiles. It was impressive to see the quick progress that the boys had made in such a short space of time. The day was followed by some evening activities including basketball, badminton and table tennis. As you can imagine, everyone was exhausted and ready for bed after an active day. Although, all of our boys were ready and raring for the next day ahead!
There was no holding back for the second day on the slopes, the top group completed black runs with equal progress for the new skiers accomplishing green and blue runs. Our Beacon Boys do not hold back! Great achievements all round. The day ended with a self-controlled coaster and card games.
The third day was another busy day on the slopes, with each boy showing development in not only their skiing skills but their confidence as well. There were some sore legs but nevertheless the enthusiasm was still sky high! The staff were also enjoying themselves whilst working on their own skiing skills.
With two days left our boys were making the most of all the time on the snow that they had left. There were some impressive jumps being completed and some action shots captured. Bright blue skies with crisp white snow, nothing better! The evening consisted of a basketball game which was staff vs boys!
The last day skiing was one to remember, more jumps, tricks, tail grabs and evening fireworks. The day was completed with awards (sweets of course) for the boys who showed kindness, clean rooms and impressive skiing.
The final day consisted of traveling, so our boys stacked up on snacks prior to heading back home. Every boy left France with a smile on his face. It was safe to say, everyone had a wonderful time, developing not only sporting skills but personally as well.
