Old Beaconian Legend Turns 90

15 October 2020

Just before the first lockdown in March, 30 Old Boys who attended The Beacon between the 1950s and 1960s came together to celebrate the 90th birthday of former Beacon Games Master, Peter Marson, over lunch at the Amersham and Chiltern Rugby Club. Guests travelled from as far as the United States and France to honour the great man. Cricket commentator, Henry Blofeld, and former England Rugby Coach, Dick Best, both sent birthday messages, as did the many Old Beaconians who were unfortunately unable to join us on the day.

It was a wonderful occasion, beautifully organised by Old Beaconians Tony Tagent (OB -1958) and the late Simon Curtis (OB 1955-60), with much laughter and reminiscing had by all.
