This week in their #BeaconExcellence: Online lessons, our Year 2 boys have been learning about the scientist and inventor of waterproof fabric Charles Macintosh, after whom the Mackintosh raincoat is named.
The boys conducted their own experiments to see how waterproof different materials are, and the boys also came up with some great inventions themselves. One made use of his little brother’s milk bottle as a pipette, and another made his own Mackintosh out of plastic carrier bags in a wonderful example of upcycling!
Brilliant work boys!
