Goldsworthy-inspired Artwork

28 April 2020

Every week in the Year 4 and 5 #BeaconExcellenceOnline Art lessons, our boys are focusing on the work of a different artist. Last week, the lessons examined the land artist Andy Goldsworthy who creates temporary work outdoors, only using natural materials.
Our boys were tasked with creating their own Andy Goldsworthy-inspired artwork with the key word ‘Ephemeral’, meaning that, like Andy Goldsworthy, they needed to create temporary pieces of art that would change or blow away in time.
Miss Jackson received some incredible photos from our creative boys, with a gallery of just a few below.

Talk & Tours

Throughout August, our Headmaster, Will Phelps, and our Registrar, Jane Baines, are inviting future Beacon families to safely meet with him on our School site for a socially-distanced tour of our incredible school and an informal talk about your son and his education. “The largest single sex Prep School in the UK, The Beacon still has an impressively inclusive, family feel to it, with a focus on pastoral care and turning out well-rounded boys.”
