We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 boys who performed two stunning dress rehearsal performances of their musical production ‘Dr Dolittle Jr’. An upbeat and action-packed spectacle which swept us on a voyage around the world to find the Great Pink Sea Snail. We started off on broadway with the all singing, all dancing Animals, moved onto Puddleby on the Marsh with some slapstick from Jeff and Jim the Policemen and the Villagers. We then travelled through Blossom and Gertie’s fun filled and vibrant circus and sailed across the ocean to Popsipetal Island to see Straight-Arrow and the Warriors. All ending with a full company protest in Puddleby on the Marsh! An all-inclusive performance and with a focus on the ensemble, the boys fully embraced the creative material and have wowed us this week with their talent, creativity and resilience.
As we always say to the boys a production is always a team effort. We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing Year 4 parents’ costume team who made sure everything was possible and in order for the performances to continue. A huge thank you to the Year 4 teachers and TA’s for all their help and support with the production. Thank you to Michelle Jackson, Helen Wheeler and Ivan Van Rooyen for our colourful scenery and props and to marketing for the programme design and photography. Thank you to the talented Tom Nicholls for doing the sound and projections and our fabulous Head of Music, Kathryn Filippides, for working the lighting.
Of course, the biggest thank you and a huge well done goes to the boys themselves for their fantastic efforts and impressive performances!
