BBC Young Reporter

10 March 2020

Our Library was transformed today into a buzzing newsroom as our Year 8 boys became reporters for BBC Young Reporter Day. In small groups, the boys had the morning to pitch, research, write and edit current news stories that they felt passionate about. Topics included flooding in Wales and eating less meat to save the planet, with interviews from the current world land speed record holder, Andy Green OBE, and Head of Public Affairs and Communication at Chelsea FC, Steve Atkins.  If you would like to see what the boys have been reporting on please click here.

Talk & Tours

Throughout August, our Headmaster, Will Phelps, and our Registrar, Jane Baines, are inviting future Beacon families to safely meet with him on our School site for a socially-distanced tour of our incredible school and an informal talk about your son and his education. Please click here for more details.

“The largest single sex Prep School in the UK, The Beacon still has an impressively inclusive, family feel to it, with a focus on pastoral care and turning out well-rounded boys.”

For a genuine insight into The Beacon, see our recent review from Muddy Stilettos.
