Nurturing Wellbeing, Building Confidence

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children and must always act in the best interests of the child.

The Beacon adopts a child-centred and coordinated approach to safeguarding and child protection. We recognise that effective safeguarding requires a culture of vigilance, early identification of concerns, timely information sharing, and effective partnership working with children, families, external agencies and partners.

The Beacon Safeguarding Team, led by our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) has responsibility for coordinating safeguarding and child protection procedures across the school. However, all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors are expected to play their part in keeping children safe.
