September Open Morning
We were delighted to welcome prospective families to The Beacon for our September Open Morning last weekend.
The sun was shining and our enthusiastic Upper School boys served as tour guides, warmly greeting visitors before leading them around our exceptional facilities.
The morning began with an informative speech from Headmaster Nick Baker, who spoke about what makes life at The Beacon so special. He then handed over to our Head Boy team, who shared their personal experiences of school life and heartfelt stories about how The Beacon has shaped them into the boys they are today.
Soon after, our visitors were toured to different departments around the school where they could chat to teachers and Beacon Boys – many of which offered goodies and keepsakes to take home!
A highlight of the morning was the Performing Arts showcase, where our talented young musicians, actors and singers captivated audiences with a range of live performances. Visitors also enjoyed a vibrant display around The Spinney, featuring photographs from past shows and events.
Another big draw was all the delicious food available to taste! Our catering team cooked some divine treats, showcasing our school’s healthy but tasty approach to meals. On top of this, our Cooking and Nutrition room was filled with budding Beacon Chefs cooking up a storm. Homemade pizzas, scones and soup filled the room.
In the Design & Technology Lab and Art Room, visitors were given mini tutorials on how to create their own screen prints and bespoke designed badges that they were welcome to take home. Whilst in the Sports Hall, sport enthusiasts demonstrated their skills at batting and bowling in the nets.
With even more to offer, our September Open Morning was a fantastic success and a wonderful opportunity to welcome so many new faces. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff, pupils and members of our community who helped make the day such a memorable one!
