Year 6 MasterCook 2026

Presenting Divine Dishes to Master of Culinary Arts, Daniel Crump

We launched this year’s MasterCook Competition with our Year 6 pupils, and to say the standard was high would be an understatement. After four exciting cook-offs, thirteen of our talented young chefs were selected to progress to the final, where they had the incredible opportunity to cook for Daniel Crump, owner of award winning restaurant, The Greyhound, in Beaconsfield and a Master of Culinary Arts.

Choosing the winners proved to be a difficult task, given the exceptional quality of dishes prepared and presented throughout the competition. In fact, the standard was so close that Daniel awarded a joint third place, as separating the finalists was nearly impossible. Congratulations to our Year 6 MasterCook winners:

  • 1st Place: George T – Chocolate lava cake
  • 2nd Place: Robert F – Chocolate and orange tart
  • Joint 3rd Place: Rocky D – Sticky Toffee Pudding
  • Joint 3rd Place: Sebastian S – Katsu Chicken with pickled Red Cabbage and Rice

However, the true success of MasterCook lies beyond the final results. It is seeing so many children develop a genuine passion for cooking. The skills they have gained will bring them not only enjoyment, but also health, happiness and lasting memories shared with family and friends.

Well done to everyone involved, and a heartfelt thank you to our Beacon parents for their continued support in nurturing this invaluable life skill. A special mention to our Head of Cooking and Nutrition, Kim Rowland, for her passion and for delivering yet another fantastic competition.
