Our Young Budding Chefs Impress Local Restaurateur
Our Year 4 boys did not disappoint, impressing us all with their outstanding dishes throughout the competition. From homemade pasta to fillet of beef with dauphinoise potatoes, and teriyaki chicken noodle salad – their passion for cooking was clear. The organisation, attention to detail and confident seasoning all reflected just how much they had practised at home.
Mr Daniel Crump, owner of the award-winning Greyhound restaurant in Beaconsfield adjudicated the cook-off events and was incredibly impressed with the boys’ cooking skills, particularly at such a young age. He was thrilled to be invited as part of the MasterCook judging panel. Daniel found the judging process particularly challenging due to the exceptionally high standard across the board. However, he finally selected three well-deserved Year 4 MasterCook 2025 winners.
Coming third place, with divine American fluffy pancakes was Kai C. Barnaby P-S then claimed second place with tasty prawn gyozas and overall excellent organisational skills. Finally, coming first place was Ayven S, who made what was described as a “genuinely delicious” tandoori chicken burger by Mr Crump.
After speaking with the three winners, they all discussed how the MasterCook competition and advice from Daniel Crump has definitely improved their culinary skills. They are all very much looking forward to competing again next year!
Well done, boys – an excellent first MasterCook competition for you all!
