Yesterday, Year 1 had a fantastic day out at Whipsnade Zoo! Despite the chilly weather, the boys’ excitement kept them warm as they discovered a wide range of different animals from around the world.
They thoroughly enjoyed getting to see lions, giraffes, elephants and many more fascinating creatures up close. One of the highlights of the day was the train ride through the zoo, allowing everyone to spot the animals along the way.
Our Year 1 boys took part in an educational African animal workshop, teaching them about different animal habitats and how animals have adapted to survive in them. In addition to this, they discovered how some animals use camouflage to blend into their surroundings and stay safe from predators. Their favourite part of the workshop was pretending to be meerkats and using their sharp claws to dig for food!
Altogether, it was a brilliant hands-on experience with a lot of learning, laughter and adventure.
