A Yuletide Celebration of Talent and Tradition
Our annual Beacon Carol Services are a beautiful and uplifting way to start the Christmas season, celebrating the outstanding talent and hard work of our pupils in Years 4-8. They combine thoughtful readings, popular carols, Christmas songs and a brilliant Brass Quintet, all thoroughly enjoyed by an appreciative congregation of Beacon families and staff, enveloping everyone with Christmas spirit.
Our Lower School boys set the tone in the first service, introducing the Christmas story confidently through a number of clearly delivered and expressive narrations. Interspersed with delightful choral pieces sung by the Junior Choir and Beacon Voices – a highlight being ‘The Colours of Christmas’. A special mention has to go to Xander G, Direv D S and Shyam K for their fantastic solo contributions.
Our Middle and Upper School boys had a tough act to follow but definitely rose to the challenge and helped us all… ‘Step into Christmas’ with a wonderful celebration of the festive season. The service showcased stunning choral performances by our Beacon Voices and Chorus Choir, with highlights including ‘Once in Royal David’s City,’ beautifully opened by Alex Leutfeld, and ‘This Joy’.
Traditional biblical verses were thoughtfully read and presented by the boys, leading us through the Christmas story, to mark the season in the most memorable way.
