Sports Highlights Week 16 2026

U8B1 Football vs Moulsford

The U8B1 team travelled to Moulsford on Thursday afternoon for their first away match of the term, braving wet conditions but thoroughly enjoying the experience. The boys started brightly and quickly took control of the game, dominating possession from the outset and creating a host of chances. While composure in the box initially let them down, their positive intent and teamwork was clear.

The breakthrough soon followed, with goals from Sebastian B (2), Benjamin W (2) and Freddy F giving us a deserved 5-0 lead at half time. A particular highlight was Benjamin W’s superb strike from distance, which flew in off the underside of the crossbar and capped an excellent first-half performance.

The second half saw more of the same, with the boys continuing to play with energy and enthusiasm. Freddy F completed his hat-trick with two well-taken goals, ensuring a convincing 7–1 victory by full time. The team also benefited from being rotated around the pitch, allowing everyone the chance to play in their preferred positions and develop their all-round understanding of the game.

Albie F was deservedly named our Player of the Match for his excellent positional and spatial awareness, as well as his selfless approach that really benefited the rest of the team. William M-M impressed with his tenacity in competing for every loose ball, Hector M delivered a fantastic display of both short and long-range passing, and Reyan repeatedly found himself in dangerous areas of the pitch and created some great opportunities for the team.

Overall, a hugely enjoyable afternoon, plenty of goals, and a great team performance to kick off the football season. Well done, lads!

U10A Football vs Belmont

The U10A team got their season off to a flying start with an outstanding 12-1 victory at Belmont Prep in their first away match of the term. From the opening whistle the team played with confidence and intent, moving the ball quickly and dominating large periods of the game with excellent football. At the back, Mateo C was superb in goal, making a number of excellent saves to deny Belmont and keep us firmly in control. In front of him, Wilf W provided real composure in defence, staying calm in possession and helping to build attacks from the back. His reading of the game was key in cutting out Belmont attacks.

In midfield, Teddy S-S impressed with his quality on the ball, dictating play and creating plenty of chances with clever passes and intelligent movement. The attacking play was clinical, with goals shared across the team – Quinn R led the way with four goals, Harley G added three, Maxim M scored twice, Ronan W grabbed two, and relentless pressure forced an own goal to complete the scoring. The highlight of the match was a superb team goal. A flowing move featuring a series of one-touch passes ended with a Quinn R cross, which Maxim M finished confidently at the back post.

Overall, it was a great start to the season. The boys should be extremely proud of their effort and attitude, and there is plenty to be positive about as the team looks forward to building on this excellent performance.
