1st XIII Rugby Team
![]()
The final whistle on Wednesday brought more than just the end of a match—it marked the end of an era for this remarkable group of boys. Many of them have laced up their boots together since Year 3, and watching them run out for their last game in school colours was a moment filled with pride, nostalgia, and no small amount of emotion.
From the very first session in September to their final performance this week, their growth has been extraordinary. They have embraced every challenge, transformed their skills, and produced some truly beautiful running rugby along the way. All season, I asked for work rate, effort, and commitment. They delivered that—and more—in abundance. Every player, from front row to full-back, has contributed something special, and their progress is a testament to the hard work and determination they brought to every training and every fixture.
This term has seen them face some exceptionally tough opposition. While not every result went our way, the boys never once let their heads drop. They continued to move the ball, trust in each other, and play the expansive, exciting rugby we have worked hard to develop. Their resilience and willingness to keep playing the game the right way has been nothing short of inspiring.
It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to coach the 1st XIII this term. As they move on from school rugby, I hope they carry forward not just their skill, but the camaraderie, discipline, and joy they have shown throughout this journey. I wish every one of them the very best in their future rugby careers.

Colts (Year 6) Rugby Tournament at Warwick School
![]()
On Wednesday, the Colts A squad made the trip up to Warwick School for our end of season tournament and what a great day it was. All of the 11 boys selected should be very proud of the way they represented The Beacon on what was a rugby filled afternoon, with games that came thick and fast.
The table below summaries our results:
Game Opponent Result Scorers
1 Warwick 1-3 (Lost) Xander T-O
2 Fairfield 6-0 (Won) Blake B x 2, Oliver C x 2, Xander T-O, Evan A
3 Bromsgrove 0-1 (Lost)
4 Beachborough 2-1 (Won) Oliver C, Blake B
5 Crackley Hall 1-0 (Won) Sonny Mc
6 Chesham 3-1 (Won) Sonny Mc, Xander T-O, Blake B
The boys played some of their best rugby throughout the afternoon and some of the attacking play on show was impressive. Everyone stood up to their defensive responsibilities too and it was a great way to finish off the rugby season. Thanks to Mr Robinson for coming along and keeping the games flowing by seeking out our opposition on more than one occasion.
Well done this year boys, you were a pleasure to coach. Thank you to all the parents too, who have made all the trips to support the boys. It is very much appreciated.

U10As Warwick Rugby Festival
Played 6, Won 3, Drew 1, Lost 2
Well done to the U10A team, who played six matches in an entertaining afternoon of rugby at Warwick School. The boys made an excellent start, comfortably winning their first two matches against Warwick and Fairfield.
Their third game, against Winchester House, was a very even contest, with our opponents scoring in the final seconds to snatch the win. Spratton Hall followed and proved to be a powerful and physical side with some strong ball carriers. The boys fought hard in another closely contested match but were edged out by a single try.
Next came a draw against Berkhamsted, a game we dominated for long periods but unfortunately ran out of time to score the winning try. In our final match, against Cheltenham, the boys produced their best rugby of the afternoon, moving the ball wide with confidence and finishing several well worked tries.
A huge well done to all the boys who took part. They represented the school superbly.
