Little Beacons’ Wet and Wonderful Adventure at College Lake
On Tuesday, our Little Beacons had a wet but wonderful trip to College Lake – a beautiful Nature Reserve located in Tring.
On the walk from the bus to the school room, the boys kept a keen eye out to see if they could spot any minibeasts on the way. Once they arrived to their destination, they had a quick snack and then settled in for a lovely story themed around their trip, called ‘Twist and Hop, Minibeast Bop’.
Our Little Beacons then set out to explore a sensory garden to gather an array of items to decorate a log for their own minibeast party! They had a lovely time collecting flowers, herbs, petals and leaves and were proud to show them to the College Lake leader, Sarah. They then took their treasures back to the tree log and decorated it ready for the celebration.
With their minibeast party complete, it was time for a well-earned picnic. The afternoon was filled with craft, muddy puddles, spotting wildlife and running in the field.
After a busy day exploring the wilderness, the boys had a sleepy journey home, preparing to tell their parents about their adventure.
