BPS Family Funday
The first of our Beacon family festival event, BeaconFest 2025, proved to be a spectacular day out, bringing together our Beacon community for a day full of activities and delicious food.
The event’s popular Food Village kept our guests pleased with a range of options. Many enjoyed juicy burgers and loaded fries from Friends & Flavours, which included vegan-friendly choices. Bears Pizza was another highly chosen option with wood-fired pies and toppings to suit halal, vegan and gluten-free preferences. For those in need of a pick-me-up, the Coffee Van also brewed fresh cups throughout the day, with younger visitors being pulled towards the Bubble Tea stand to choose customised drinks. The Candy Floss and Ice Cream truck also proved to be a big hit.
Visitors were constantly entertained with an impressive Falconry display, where they could learn about different species of birds and even hold them! Over at the Circus Workshop with Katy Kartwheels, guests got hands-on with trialling circus skills and enjoyed performances featuring stilt walking, hula hooping, aerial acrobatics and more.
A line of giant inflatables, including bouncing castles and obstacle courses, stretched across the end of Willsfield, with children delighted to have the chance to bounce and play. Others enjoyed our more competitive games like Tug of War, which welcomed participants of all ages.
Popular attractions included funfair style activities such as a coconut shy and hook-a-duck, Mini Golf and the action-packed Nerf Arena, keeping children entertained all day long.
Faye, our Co-Chair of our Beacon Parent Society, commented, “It was so great to see so many of you there and we are delighted to have jump started this year’s fundraising having raised over £2,000 on the day. Huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers, it couldn’t happen without you.”
