Developing Bushcraft Skills in Boughton Woods
Our Year 7 boys enjoyed an action-packed start to the school year during their first residential trip at Boughton Woods with The Bushcraft Company. They threw themselves into a variety of team-building activities right away – collecting firewood, building emergency shelters, learning about camouflage and how to start a fire.
After playing different games and developing their bushcraft skills, the group had a chance to rest and recharge. As the evening set in, the rain began to fall, however spirits remained high. The next morning brought more activities such as survival bracelet-making, archery and axe throwing.
Altogether, it was a fantastic way to launch their Upper School journey. The trip provided not only a chance to build on new skills outside of a classroom environment, but also the opportunity to strengthen teamwork and friendships along the year group.
