Year 6 Trip to St Albans

25 February 2020

On Tuesday, our Year 6 boys visited St Albans for a joint Self & Society, Classics and History trip. We headed to the Verulamium Park where the Roman Amphitheatre sparkled in the well-timed sunshine and the mosaics at the Hypocaust didn’t fail to impress. We then headed to the Masorti Synagogue for an insight into Jewish tradition and culture, and we were privileged to observe many artefacts including a Torah scroll. Finally, we took a brief trip up to the Cathedral and wandered through the contrasting gothic and medieval architecture. The boys were particularly taken with the beautiful stained glass and the shrine of St Alban. The boys were a real credit to the school!

Talk & Tours

Throughout August, our Headmaster, Will Phelps, and our Registrar, Jane Baines, are inviting future Beacon families to safely meet with him on our School site for a socially-distanced tour of our incredible school and an informal talk about your son and his education. Please click here for more details.

“The largest single sex Prep School in the UK, The Beacon still has an impressively inclusive, family feel to it, with a focus on pastoral care and turning out well-rounded boys.”

For a genuine insight into The Beacon, see our recent review from Muddy Stilettos.
