Beacon Boys Host Tea Party for Local Veterans

9 November 2019

A group of Year 8 Beacon Boys hosted a wonderful afternoon tea party for local veterans before Christmas. In collaboration with Councillor Mimi Harker OBE, local Armed Forces Champion, the boys helped to plan and co-ordinate the tea party and the event was a huge success.

The boys were inspired to host the afternoon after their recent studies of WW1 and a moving trip to the Battlefields in Ypres earlier in the term. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring different generations together and for the boys to meet the real-life heroes they might have only read about in history books.
