As Parents’ Society co-chairs for the year 2009/2010, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents and boys, new and old, to the events which we have planned for this school year.
The committee has put together a fun and fabulous calendar of events, and we hope that there is something in it for everyone to enjoy!
Our first event has already taken place, in October, which was the perennially popular Quiz Night and Supper which provided a good work-out for the old grey matter with the benefit of a hearty meal and a well stocked bar to fuel the brain cells!
Next up is the Cake Sale in November, with a cornucopia of cup cakes, cookies and chocolate cakes! Following this, in early December, there will be a Disco for the boys in Years 7 & 8 who will be joined by girls from Pipers Corner School.
And to round off the term in a suitable festive manner Santa will be visiting the School. The dining room will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland where the boys and their siblings can come and visit the man in the red suit in Santa’s Grotto and receive a little early Christmas present.
So please do come along and support us at these events, it is a great way to meet up with friends and to have the opportunity of making some new ones. All the money raised from these events contributes to the Parents' Society funds which this year will go towards the creation a Quiet Sculpture Garden for the use of the boys during Art lessons and for those who may want a respite from the hurly burly of the astro during play times.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the next few months and to continue to build on the wonderful sense of community that we have in our busy school.
As always, if you are interested in joining The Beacon Parents’ Society please do let us know, as we are always keen to welcome new members.
