The library promotes literacy by providing support for all members of the school, both staff and pupils, and for all levels of age and ability. It is an information resource centre which provides books in print, story tapes, access to the internet, videos, magazines, daily newspapers, and is staffed by a full-time librarian.

Every class comes into the library once a week for a set library period. In addition, boys from Years 3 - 8 have lessons in library skills, ensuring they are confident in using the library and its resources, and that they are able to locate and gather together information effectively.  Boys in these years are also able to use the library at break times in order to change or read books, to play games, or to watch a video on certain days of the week.

Pupils and staff are able to enjoy an up-to-date and appropriate selection of reading material, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I am always happy to recommend suitable books, and welcomes enquiries and recommendations from both pupils and parents.

Librarian
