Parents' Society

The Beacon has a very active Parents’ Society (BPS) which aims to provide social activities for the parents and the boys and at the same time raise funds for equipment and resources that the school may not otherwise be able to support.  The Committee comprises approximately 18 mums and dads representing all year groups and also includes some members of staff.

Recent projects that the Beacon Parents’ Society has funded include:

  • New playground equipment
  • A canopy outside the Art-DT rooms
  • Choir risers for the Music Department
  • Lighting, Sound and Audio Visual equipment for the Old Barn Performance Studio
  • Laser Cutter and 3D Printer for use in the DT department
  • Rainy day toys for Pre-Prep boys
  • An eco-friendly composter

The Committee organises a variety of activities and events for the whole Beacon Community throughout the school year, from Quiz Nights, Cake Sales, Social Evenings and a Spring Ball for parents and staff, through to Discos and other activities for the boys, plus a Christmas Fair, a Camp Night and Summer Swim Club for everyone! Current parents can find more information on our forthcoming events on the Parent Message Centre, and if you would like to come and join this friendly committee and have fun, whilst getting involved in the life of the school, do please let us know at bps@beaconschool.co.uk.  We look forward to meeting you.
